WELCOME TO MY STUDIO!
I’m Lindsay “Bones” Cordero.
I’m an author-illustrator, artist, and creative entrepreneur based in Washington DC.
From serving as an officer in the United States Air Force to pivoting into a creative career and becoming a published author, I’ve learned we have the power within us to forge a path aligned with our biggest dreams. I am on a mission to bring more joy, belonging and possibility to life through my efforts in art and literacy.
Ten years ago, I was just beginning my Air Force journey. As a military brat I grew up overseas and in a handful of states before eventually following in my family’s footsteps to join the Air Force by attending the Air Force Academy. During the past decade on active duty I focused my creative energy within the realm of national security.
Until one day I realized that the highest form of service in my lifetime would be through my art.
It was as simple as that. I leapt off active duty so I could step fully into my creative career.
I have three focus areas in my creative practice.
“Lindsay’s art is unapologetic in her expression of human emotion. She crafts her work with such intentionality and passion. Her pieces invite you to come back to them over and over to discover a hidden detail and a part of yourself.“

I am very proud to be the 2023 Veterans Day Google Doodle guest artist. It is a huge honor to be the sixth guest artist, and first veteran of Hispanic heritage, to have the privilege to create original artwork to honor service members and veterans for Veterans Day in the United States.
FILMING: "Air Force Artisans"
In 2022, Lindsay completed filming in Austin Texas for her episode of the inaugural streaming series of the “Air Force Artisans.” Out of 4,000 personnel surveyed, Bones was one of 30 artists selected for this show. The show will follow creative influencers in the Air and Space Force who pursue their art even as they serve in the military. This series is intended to support Air and Space Force efforts to support recruiting, retention, resiliency, and representation. Her episode will cover the three focuses of her creative practice: children’s literacy, mental health, and conservation.
